First off, is Ben Townley officialy out? Have not heard anything about him and team TwoTwo since his injury. He was my pick. But now I am thinking it will be a series long battle between RD and JS. I think the Zuke, the new team and all the trash talk may just have motivated JS7 to show folks whats up.....Or maybe not, we won't know until the gate drops. I don't expect JS7 to win the opener at Hangtown but I wouldn't be surprised either if he did.

Of course Dungey will be there up front buuuuut I also expect some really good racing out of Metcalf and Mike Alessi (MA800 especially at Hangtown as he loves that track).

My prediction (with Townley out)....
1. Stewart (by a slim margin)
2. Dungey
3. Metcalf
4. Alessi
5. Short

I thought you said Towelie out at first :banghead: , my eyes man, I have been reading shit wrong for the last few months.  I like your picks, Cannot wait till the gate drops

So maybe mid season. That sucks!

Was out at Hangtown the other day doing some riding on the offroad course and went to check out the track.
Just a tip for those doing the "MX Picks Game"... They are still adding rice hulls and fresh soil to the track so between that, watering and the 90+ degree weather we are having here, it's going to be a rutted up nasty mother f'r and full of rocks as usual. Expect the guy that is most in shape, can take the nasty roost and can hang it all out without going down to take the overall. The hill climb on the south west side of the track is covered in rocks so it's gonna be like your getting pelted with salt rock blasts....NASTY.....but fun and the down hills are covered in breaking bumps (lot's of over the bar crashes in those sections)....

I really like Tyla Rattray's chances this year. I predict that he'll be top 5 every race. He definately has the conditioning to run the full race and he will be on a great team and a championship bike.

Depending on injuries, he could be the last man standing.

I think it will be the goat. Since he wants a new nascar ride, jgrmx would be perfect. How much would jgr like to see James beaten by his old bike? Just kidding of course, but it would be sweet.

You're kidding? JGR wants to beat James and everyone else for that matter. But truly they want to beat James more than they want to beat Dungey I am sure.

Still Dungey's to lose. He's in great shape, Ktm have that bike going very well. Hard combo to beat without a mistake.

why does everyone think js7 is all of a suddenly going to win because he switched bikes? last time i checked the race is more rider than machine

If JS7 is motivated enough he can hang in the top 3 at least. I think Dungey will likely take the title when it's all said and done. Rattray's conditioning is awesome-wouldn't be surprised to see him in the top 5. Short is usually in the top 5 but Alessi? Eh...I don't know. He really has a reputation of NEVER living up to expectations.

Haven't you heard? It was the

Shock
Tires
Backwards enging
Geometry
Forks settings
Custom rad covers

I probably left 20 others off the list but it's plain and simple.......He is just to fast for Yamaha

I know because I read it on TT everyday :banghead:

But, but, but he looks so fast on the zuke in those video's I saw on the internetz..... So much more comfortable than he was on the yamahammer, I'm certain he will win practice at each round and that is all that matters to me mr. bubble blower.

Wait what the hell am I saying??? Stewart is going to do his best effing lawn dart impressions ever trying to run with the Dunge and before the summer is over he will pack up his ball and go home.... In order to prepare for supercross he will say but in reality it will be because he is getting his ass handed to him.

I don't think he'll quit the Nationals....BUT....If he does he has the perfect excuse

I'm not getting paid to be here

My real opinion is that he wants to ride in the Des Nations (a worthy goal and if he does I'll cheer him the whole way) and he now knows the rules, if you want to ride in the Des Nations you gotta ride the Nationals. So in reality I think you're right, he won't quit the Nat's, unless he is doing poorly and doesn't get picked for the Des Nations, at that point, he definitely goes home.

I think it will come down to who ever makes the least mistakes. In that case, it is hard to bet agains Dungey although I will love to see Stewart win it, that will make next season that much more interesting!

Here is a novel concept.  It is about a rider being comfortable on the machine.

So he is only racing the Nats to be on the MXdN team?
