After reading sevredline's post on building his cr250, I think I am going to hold out for a 250 2t.  I grew up racing a two stroke and I like the idea of the cheaper maintenance.  I like the idea of finding a Honda.  Having said that, what make and year came with the best handing and suspension?  I really want a light feeling bike.

RM250 has a faster turning frame. Yamaha has the so called best suspension from 06+, my 04 KX250 also turns very good as does my 02 CR250. Really they all got good from about 01 forward. They're all about the same weight from 05+ until KTM got ultra light in '11 or so.

Is there any company or shop out there that builds CR250's?  I wanted to check into the cost of a bike with a rebuilt engine and suspension before I buy one and have to do that.  It may be cheaper to buy a bike that way than rebuild one myself even if it is outside the 2k budget.
