I'm not sure how much you can adjust, but you'd want to lean it out a bit around cruising loads, and maybe add in a little more spark advance.

you can adjust shift points firmness, revlimiter. and the standard tire size and speedo limiter adjustments. im thinking to change shift points but not sure if it means when it shifts when youre at WOT or when youre cruising.

That's quite limited in what you can do then. I'd just try loading up one the default tunes and see what happens.

1ST, there's a reason why that brand is referred to as HyperJUNK.

Get a Diablosport Predator. I am an avid tuner and had a speed shop. When people wanted just a basic handheld for the exact purpose you're wanting it for, there is no better one out there. Plus, they're forum is great and their customer service is unmatched.

Find the model # needed for your truck and then search Craigslist and buy local if you want a used one. That way you can make sure it's unlocked. Otherwise, buy new. Getting a used one from a forum classified or ebay you end up getting ripped off and it's locked from the previous vehicle.

You can usually pick up a used one for @ $100

Free is good. Can't beat that. If it works good for you, use it. It's just that Hypertech really doesn't tune for full potential nor have all the options that newer tuners have.

i'm not really looking for a lot out of it, my trucks already got about enough balls as is, i just want to see what even a little bit does! and this isn't the little cheap one hypertech makes its the power programmer III i mean if its crap its the crap with the diamonds in it!

You wouldn't believe the potential that motor has with just some basic bolt ons.
If you were to open up the intake and exhaust & Intake with just a good CAI and free flowing muffler, you could easily see a 25hp gain to the wheels. Headers is more than most people want to do. But I have seen these trucks with the above mentioned and a tune add 35-40hp to the ground at our dyno shop.

All the emissions crap and conservative tunes make these engines work harder than they need to.

Was thinking about a tuner for my Ford gas V10 Box Van to see if I can get a little better gas milage. 1 MPG would be a 10% increase which would be huge!

The shift points do seem to be high so just that might help. I am not a mash it to the floor driver and am very easy on the pedal.
