Need to advise,
Going to order a IMS tank for my 2001 YZ 250. Want to go with a later model one so I can use the late model radiator covers
1) Will the factory seat work ?
2) I understand I might need to make some home made brackets for mounting the tank ? True or False
3) If anyone has done this, how big of a tank can I go with on the 250 and still have access to the plug ?

Dunno about the '01, but on my '06 with the 3.2 gal IMS tank, I have no trouble accessing the plug.  Factory seat fit fine on my bike with the oversized tank.

You may need custom brackets if you don't get a tank specifically designed for your '01.  Best to ask IMS about that.
