Nope, none of them have been. There isn't a single shred of data to be found. Leatt says they test, in their state of the art lab, but they have never released any data or videos of tests.

With helmets there is SNELL http://www.smf.org/ It's not like you can go and find your specific helmet on their site but you can find all of the specific details and methods they use when performing the tests. That's good enough for me. There needs to be a SNELL for neck braces too.
As far as your friends comment goes, that is just more emotional persuasion. Unless you can see a video of the crash, there is no way to know. Or you can use my experiance from last week. I was 5th gear pinned doing about 60 mph in the sand dunes. Decided to go around a tree that was in the middle of the dune, and there was a circle rut made by quads about 30 feet across and 5 feet deep, you could not see it, the sand just disappeared. There was nothing I could do except jump head first over the bars as my front tire hit the other side. I am perfectly fine except a bruised thigh.

Like I said earlier, there needs to be indepenent testing of neck braces. Until then they are just a quack device, but some people will swear that they work. Those same people back in the day, would have also believed in blood letting with leaches.

I just think there should be some proven worth, and it would be easy to prove. Why don't the manufacturers give us some proof? Ask yourself that.

the "HANS" device. It is used to prevent basel skull fractures. It actually holds the helmet in place. It goes over the drivers shoulders and then the shoulder belts hold it down. Its then clipped to the helmet in 2 spots. That way the head cannot come crashing forward in a collision.
