If he doesn't have the same level of satisfaction, rest assured, he'll move on.  If he's still enjoying it, let the man race.  The guy's already among the greatest riders ever to throw a leg over a dirt bike.  Maybe he just wants to be able to enjoy riding and racing without having to worry about the career aspect, and if that's the case, how can you blame him?  I know I wouldn't get the same amount of enjoyment out of GNCC, endurocross, trials, etc. that I get out of motocross.

I was pretty big on bowling a couple years ago... used to bowl 3 nights a week, and back when I was serious about it, I was averaging 170-ish, but I never could get better than that, so I lost a lot of interest.  I ended up going from bowling 3 nights a week and hitting up every tournament I could find a team to go with 2 years ago to only bowling 4 or 5 times this year.  I really got burnt out on it.

This is my fifth year on a co Ed league with my wife and i average about a 205 and have had one 300. Highest series was a 772.

But I was raised in South east Kansas so it just comes natural. Lol

Pretty impressive to say the least, it took me a long time to get over that hump... I was bowling three times a week in pretty big money leagues for my area and would often hit up the alley on a random week day with my buddies just for fun, when I was doing that I was averaging 217 but I was def a house bowler at that point. I cut it down to one league last year, and 0 this year. Last year I finished with a 209 average and have 3 300's to my credit (one of which came when I was 14, LUCK) and one 800 series.

My dad's family is really big into the bowling scene. He's got more rings than I care to count and he just keeps bringing them home. I wanna say hes got about 5 or 6 800 series rings, one of which came from the state tourny. I wont even begin to guess how many 300's he has shot. Saw his dad shoot 299 back to back on a league night. Talk about cleaning up.

I only subbed this year so I could bowl in at state with pops and Im averaging 204, hard to get in any kind of rhythem when you only bowl 1 or 2 nights a month.

No kidding, I had to bowl at least 3 times a week to keep my average up.

Bowling is about 99% mental... for me it is anyways. As long as I didnt get frustrated and kept my head in it I could do about anything I wanted with the ball. If my head was out of it my ball did what it wanted lol

It really is. If I wasn't having fun, I might as well have packed up and left to go ride. :banghead:

It would be cool to see him go the way of other past Mx stars and give offroad a try.  Then, there really won't be any expectations...
