I noticed this when mounting my header pipe, this doesn't look good. What does this mean?

What kind of gas are you running?  Its not bad beleive it or not.  You see this in a lot of engines and I have heard different theories on why it happens.  I have heard its from the impurities in the gasoline burning off.  Anyway its scary looking and this is why it is important to check your valves and valve seals.  I trust your bike runs fine?

I run standard pump gas, 91 octane. The bike runs like a champ I feel like it gets better the more I ride it. Will I need to clean this out eventually?

Would race gas prevent something like this?

You can try it.  I know I want to try some but I go through tires like a fat kid goes through twinkies so I save the coin and run 93 from Mobil.

I just clean it out when I do a top end and certainly make sure the valve seals are replaced.  The valve seals are key to keeping the topend clean.  The garbage needs to get blown out the exhaust port and basically you are seeing just how much there is.

I have noticed something similar to this when I run leaded race gas, it is a little more of a grey color and you can wipe it off with your finger though from around the exit of the silencer.
