I'm think I read something about just replacing the kick starter, but can they be fixed?

I tried repairing mine just before and I thought it was going to work till I put it on the bike.

Two problems; First, the thing hits the frame and the bloke before me made sure of that!

Second, it won't lock in. I changed the spring with another one from a different bike and it seemed good, but it wasn't any good at all.

So is there a magic fix? Or do I have to buy a whole new kicker?

Thanks.

i dont understand your aussie lingo but it sounds like maybe its clocked wrong on the splines or something. theres also 2 peen marks on the shaft and gear that have to be aligned. youll just have to look and see where the problem is

G'Day mate, bloody good day for it, righto, she'll be right mate, fair dinkum, struth...

It seems to be lined up fine on the shaft. I don't understand what could be the problem there.

And the other problem is that the spring is nackered (stuffed) and I put one from a different bike in and it didn't work. Can parts be ordered or am I going to need a whole new one?

Thanks mate.

Like Harryhandshake said, you must align the punch marks located on the two gears. they are small and easy to miss unless you follow the manual or have done it properly before.

I don't now what you mean by "nackered" or "stuffed"

Hahahah this thread is golden for the australian  "slang".  Ill correct it for the "bloke", nackered or stuffed, would be damaged or in other words worn out.

Cheers fella, not that hard to understand! Thanks mate. Crikeey!

I'll have another look for the punch marks and have a look in the manual too.

As for the spring it doesn't seem to have any spring left in it. Tried topping it up but it did nothing.

Hey I'm only having a joke with the Aussie slang guys. Is there any American slang you blokes throw around? And I can't speak for Noysy, but the other day I was riding my Kangaroo around and I nearly got hit by a drop bear!

Thanks.

Classic mix up. Love it! Good luck with that. Fun fact: Kangaroos and Emus can't move backwards. Someone told me that's why they're on our Coat of Arms. The idea is Australia can only move forward.

Another fella posted up the same problems and got some help with it. I figured as much about shimming etc, but just wanted to see what the go was.

As for the peen/punch marks I can't see them I'll look in the manual though. I've got a Pro Circuit pipe n though and someone said in the other thread they just grinded the kicker down and it fixed it up. The PC pie is fatter than std he said.

Thanks.
