I was riding my motor bike and just as i got out of the trails and onto the road there was an undercover that I think tried to hit me on my motor bike to get me to stop as I was turning away from him. I then punched it and got away back into the trail.

My question are cops allowed to hit you off of your motorbike?

In general, no. There is an exception that allows them to hit you specifically, Chris.

I'm not sure how the laws work where your at but here in the states that could get them in a lot of trouble since they could easily hurt you. Why were you on the road in the first place? That's no place for a dirtbike no matter the reason. The only reason your bike should be on the road is to cross it at a 90 degree angle which isn't the case with you it sounds like.

Your "motorbike"? What are you, 90 years old?

Unless you are fleeing, they aren't allowed to run into you. If they clearly indicated to you to pull over, and you didn't, then you put yourself squarely into the "fleeing" category.

to add to what chokey said, even if there are "no pursuit" laws or laws of similar nature in order to protect the rider, who's to say the cop isn't a scumbag? think of it. you're in the middle of the woods, no witnesses, and the judge is going to believe the cop when he says "he was evading arrest after we signaled for him to stop for trespassing. he was riding wrecklessly and crashed his bike, hence why he is in the hospital" long before you say "the police officer forced me off my bike!". don't screw with the police, they'll always win. find a place to ride where you're allowed or will not be bothered by anyone.

if you are legally riding your bike there is nothing they can do apart from watch you (unless dangerous riding or off road bike on public land few other things aswell)

i dont think it was a cop....

however, like i tell my kids all the time you should never ride alone...

I would make a report to the police and say at x time and x place this happened,  if there was a cop there they could tell you he was stationed there.

undercover cops dont normally stake out trails and try to tackle people off their machines..

Where do you live? Hazard county?

The law wont usually be that aggressive unless you provoke it and i speak from experience. Not saying you did but If you act like a jerk expect the same from the law, they are only doing their job even if we don't like it. Are you certain it was an undercover or maybe it was an agitated neighbor! Communicating with an agitated neighbor or the law in a calm respectful manner almost always has a positive result.

And the moral of this story is: STAY OFF THE ROADS WITH YOUR BIKE!

I live in the middle of town and theres some trails about 7 blocks away and once im there I can go anywere I want. The problem is its all up hill.

Im certain it was a undercover. It had bull bars and he was chasing me. I was trying to dodge him and he drove up onto this grassy medium as I was turning around and I was able to get away but thinking of he hit me I would got screwed with more fines and they would take my bike away.

I feel like the goverment is hurding us like a bunch of sheep. I wish I didnt live in town and more out in the country. Its impossible to avoid cops. I dont like them cause they dont give warnings or give a  shit. They just say your a lier and talk out there ass and give me enormous fines and tell me I cant do this I cant do that. When theres plenty worse happening around. I dont live in a super small city but it doesnt have high rises or any sort its population is like under 20 thousand.

I just dont see why cops have to be so retarded over me trying to get to the trails to ride my bike. I take the least populated roads and theres cops all over the place.

I hate the goverment and I hate police. Im just wondering if its ok for a police to knock you off your bike. I just want to make sure Im better off running from them then getting screwed over.

Ive ran from the cops twice now. In a car and on a motorbike and its actually saved my ass instead of being obendient and eating shit.

Tell me:
Is it legal to ride your dirt bike on the public roads where you live?
Are you insureed and registered?
Do you have a motorycle license?

If you answer  'No' to any of these questions, you are simply asking for trouble. Eventually, they will catch you and you will pay a severe price. Being you have already commited felony evasion, I see a period of time where all your meals are free.

If you're looking for sympathy you're barking up the wrong tree. The simple fact is, you were illegally riding a non-street-legal, un-insured motorcycle on the street. And when the police tried to pull you over to do their job by enforcing the law, you ran. You didn't man-up and own your wrong-doing, you just ran, and then got on TT and tried to play the victim card.

It's time you grew up.

Really? Are you 15? Sorry but its not the governments fault you failed to 1:plate your bike  2:insure it  3:get a license  4:stop when told to. Have fun running from the law, they will eventually catch you (you can't out run the radio) regardless what you drive and how awesome of a wheel man you think you are. If you live 7 blocks away, maybe you should buy a compact truck and drive your little ass down the road to ride. Just a thought. Not too expensive to purchase. That or you could get a friend to pick you up. Use a little common sense and stop blaming the police/government for your stupidity and immaturity. Oh and if I was to see you on the road acting like a moron, I would probably run you off myself. Schmuck.

moral of the stories above is A: don't bitch and moan when in the wrong B: don't make us all look bad by something stupid you do and C: follow the law and nothing bad will happen that you cant be sue happy about.

Jeez, there's some real nazi's in here. Fifty years ago they just told you to go home. Would you rather live in a world that loves it when you do something wrong so they can drop the hammer (sickle?) and milk your for every penny, or a world where they smacked you on the back of the head and said "stop it". I'm speaking striclty to petty stuff, just in case there's a dissector out there. Don't succomb to the whorish, lawyer driven, fear based, society ppl!
