need help quickly!

I'm going today to look at a 2008 505. But, the bike in the pics has 450 plastics on it, the owner says its a 505. Is there a quick way to tell??

the quick way to tell would be the plastics, or even maybe the stamping on the engine, however as far as i know if its a bore up no there isn't any easy way to tell other thank looking at the piston.

Would the VIN tell you.

I dont know how to decode KTM VINS but I bet somebody does.

I beleive there are a couple vids on Youtube on deciphering the KTM vins.  I suggest you try there.
