Hello everyone. Just picked up a Drz-400sm. Love the bike. Would like to put some more dual sport type tires on the stock rims for some small trails and fire roads but sizing seems to be an issue. I would love to get some feedback and suggestions.

How about some Kenda K270s? They are somewhat of a soft knobbie, they work ok on the street but are awesome off road with good wear on them. This is my fiancés 400sm with Kendas. The sizes are 4.60x17 front and a 5.10x17 rear. We have also used Avon Distanzas but IMO they are a total POS off road.

Kenda makes a good 50/50 tire. Cant remember the number.
But if your mostly on road, Id go with something less aggressive,

I am mostly off pavement and take some pretty rough stuff, so I always ride fairly aggressive tires.

Does Dunlop make the 606 in your size? I've got them on my KLR 650 and I love them, don't know how long they are going to wear but work great on the dirt. They are a little noisy on pavement, look about like the old Metzler Multi-cross.

I've just bought some Pirelli MT21s for my 17s, 120/90 17 rear tyre for the front and 130/90 17 for the rear. Should be interesting to see how they go.
