Yeah so when I posted a few weeks back about wanting to change my new to me stock 09 drz400 sm from white to black a lot of ya said to keep it white...well sorry but I couldn’t help my self and I’m much happier with the all black look lol. Added, acerbis plastics all around including super moto front fender. I bought a after market headlight off of ebay that looked alot like the acerbis diamond...it turned out to be a complete POS . You get what you pay for. Turned around and bought a cyclope head light from acerbis and I am MUCH happier with it. I ditched the big square mirrors for some more sporty looking ones with built in LED turn signals, got rid of all of the big stuff on the rear (license plate bracket, tail light, turn signals) and replaced with a  plate bracket that is tucked pretty far up under my fender with LED brake/running light, turn signals. Just mounted some new bridge stone battlax bt016 tires too. I still have a few small things to do then next is some performance mods !

they look just sooo right all black and with a cyclopse!!!!
now full exhaust, fcr, cams, 440, chop up the airbox, gear it a bit, add rad guards (even sm's hit the ground) and you'll have the drz the way they should be delivered from the factory: 50ish hp, upper mid torque, awesome nasty sound - have 40000kms on my S, 30000-ish with mods-lots of life left in it.

Yeah I love that light! Thats alot of miles! My bike is still just a baby with a lil over 2000 miles on it! When did you do the big bore ? vHopefully I can start adding some of those mods as my wallet allows. I'll probably do the 3x3 mod in the next few weeks.

very nice looking,  whats the light output like on that headlight ?
think the plastic will be hard to keep shiny and scratch free without graphics ?

I did the big bore about 30000km ago-major improvement in power everywhere.  Because of the order in which I did the mods, I can't give you a direct comparo of change re: bb/carb/pipe....  I did it in this order over a peiod of about 5000kms: pipe, cams, big bore, carb.  Most do it this order: carb, pipe, big bore, cams.

I rattle canned the tank just temporarily. It is getting bead blasted tomorrow and I'm powder coating it this weekend.

Thank you, the low beam on the light is a little weak but high beam is decent. I only use low beam in town tho and high beam through the country so it works for me.
I'm sure the black plastics will be a little harder to keep scratch free but hopefully it wont be to bad as I'm only riding this bike on the street.  My cr125 has black plastics with graphics but even the areas without graphics aren't to beat up considering

I'm sure the first big mod I'll do is going to be the pipe. Then carb?  I don't really want to go into the engine yet being as it has so few miles on it right now

Thanks, I got them off ebay. I really dig them too and they seem to be pretty bright and decent quality

Search on ebay
