After 6 very good CRF's, I thought it's time to try something new. So I sold my excellent 2010 CRF250R and bought a new 350 KTM. 250 was tuned with HGS exhaust, mapping, suspension and was good strong 250.

KTM is in stock mode right now, waiting Acra full titanium exhaust, injection mapping tool and some other parts. So far I've only added plastic KTM engine guard to prevent frame chipping.

But one significant difference there is. While Honda provides a very good  service manual for maintenance, and also full service manual is easily available, I haven't found one for KTM. In ebay there are some CD sellers, but also a lot of discussion about challenges with these CD's. Any hints from experience to locate free/affordable manual?

Thanks!

I just did the exact same bike swap, I just had the dealer order me the service manual, they said I am getting it at cost, and I forgot to ask how much before I left. I guess if it is too much, I might not get it. I thought my 250f was pretty fast with the 270cc kit I had in it, but this 350 is a lot stronger than I thought it would be.

It should come free with the bike if you bought it new...at least they used to. You can download one from KTM's website, but it isn't a full service manual, just shows how to change oil, set suspension, etc. not adjust valves or tear engine apart. I found it trying to find the service manual for my 2011 I just picked up used.

I finally found a PC that was off the network and could read the files on the disc. My bike is a 2011 250XC-F. It seams the only manual that covers Fi is the 11 SXF, is this correct. Also The 11 SXF manual highlights all the text in black, can the be fixed?

My other concern is the rear shock manual , all the manuals I find for 5018 rear shock state PDS and the stated model years are much lower, is the the same shock as the later model link bikes?

I got my disc from the dealer, and it would not open without opening windows explorer, and navigating to the english folder and opening it from there. Pretty damn lame in my opionion. How about just selling the manual the old school way in a book? This is exactly what happens when they try to simplify things, it just gets more complicated. However I did only pay $14 for it, vs. the $60 I paid for the Honda CRF service manual, so I guess I should just shut up and enjoy my extra $46 I saved over buying another Honda manual.

true, with the amount of aggrivation, i am thinking it might have been worth the extra. I needed to get the file on my netbook so I could take it out to the shop to actually work on the bike. Well the netbook doesn't have a cd-rom in it. So if it wasn't for S.T. Sand Rat's PDF viewer tip, I would have been screwed with getting it to work on there. So Thank you very much!!!! It worked!!!

I've forgotten to tank you guys. Repair manual downloaded. Work has been keeping me busy and I've ridden only 12 hours now. But getting there. Front end stability isn't what Honda was and felt really nervous. Otherwise the motor now with Akra feels strong, was strong enough with stock exhaust for me.

Pirelli started ripping apart only after few hours, swapped them to Dunlop MX51's. I have a good experience on those previously. Dealer was all out of 110/90 so I took 120/80 instead. Feels that it gives a lot of traction, but is more unstable. Maybe it's just me.

Once again, thank you for the manual.
