Ok guys, bare with me here and my possibly "stupid" questions. I Have a plan in my head to build a bobber using a hard tail xs650 frame. I want to use a yz250 ( or any 2 stroke 250) motor. I also want to use 2005 yamaha r6 forks. My questions are, if the front and rear sprockets don't line up, which I'm sure they won't , how would you get them to line up without moving the motor to far to the left because I'm going to still need the kick starter on the right side. Also I'm having a hard time finding an air cooled motor so if I have to use a liquid cooled where would you guys put the radiators so the don't look ridiculous? And last for now, how would you run the r6 front forks with apes because usually they run clip-ons? I have a pretty decent mechanical background for being 21, I've worked in a Harley dealership and I now work in my dads small engine repair shop. If anything wasnt explained well enough just let me know and I'll try to change the wording lol.

For an aircooled motor, look for an old RD250, 350, or 400. 400 is a little more uncommon and will cost more, but I've bought complete running motors for under $200. Its a parallel twin. The parts are still fairly cheap and you can hop them up with banshee pistons and, reeds, intakes, and carbs. Stock HP is about 29 crank hp. With some good expansion chambers, bigger carbs, hogged out intake to allow banshee reeds, good filters, the power shoots up fast. It was very choked up stock and didnt have real chambers. Pipes alone will get you close to 40hp. You could probably get up around 60hp with some porting and bigger carbs before you start seriously sacrificing reliability. They also sound like sex.
