does any body no what the piston bftdc spec is on a 1988 yz 250 thats for the ignition timing the local yamaha shop has gotten rid of all there old service manuals.

This might help Ron . What are you doing with the 88 ? Did they come back in style  :  )    Should I pull mine out of the attic ?

thanks for the reply i had bought an ignition and was told it was for a 1988 yz it turned out bto be a 1985 yz 250 ignition .it got installed on my TM 400 suzuki and i wanted to know what the timing was when the marks lined up .i figured it all out the bike rips .if you seen this tm @ the track you would not beleive how well it handles and goes its a blast roosting riders on ne bikes.
