I was planning on either going Thursday or Friday but I went into a left turn hot Sunday and the rut I planned on banking off of wasn't there anymore. I ended up high siding and caught my weight plus the bikes weight on my right leg and did something to my back. It's getting a little better each day so hopefully I'll be able to ride again by this weekend. If I make it I'll say hi. I'm Jake RM 250 #420

How is the dirt on the MX track? I know Blue D's track can get like Cement in the Summer.

Yeah it seems like it's either slippery since they put a ton of water down or you have trouble hooking up because the track is like a garage floor with a layer of dirt an inch thick on it. The worst part is when the ruts get solid like that. You are pretty much stuck following the line thats there because the ground is too hard to make a new one. I will say though if you want to get better Blue Diamond is the place to go. It is not always going to be fun but your skill level will definitely go up.

Yeah,  you're definitely right about increasing your skill level there.

I remember a couple of years ago, i went there a few days after they had used a harrow on the track, and riding the track was like riding on a magic carpet ride....perfect soil, no clumps, shear perfection.  That didn't last too long.

Have you ever ridden Snake Creek?   I was wondering about driving there, and checking out the track....I have no idea what the conditions are like?,, any experience?

I am at Blue Diamond at least once a week and I live 10 minutes from it. There is an awesome gravel pit right behind my house with hills jumps trails and whatever else you could want. I am not quite as creative as I used to be so I need some guys to come back there and ride it with me so I can find some new lines on the hills and just so I will push myself in general. You could park in my driveway and it's right across a field and we are there. Anyone interested PM me. I'll keep an eye on this thread from now on since I'm at Blue Diamond all the time anyway. If you see a 97 RM 250 in a blue S-10 there's a 98% chance it's me come say hi.

Hey man snakecreek is more sandy but can rut in like only one area. Is a really fun track and would recommend it to someone. I'm going to head down soon and I'd like to see what it's going to be like when they add the new section.

Hope this helps.

snakecreek is amazing, not only is the track kept in great condition, but the owners and the people that run it are good people and willing to help with anything. They treat you like family there.

Anyone going to blue diamond friday?

I'm thinking about going to Blue Diamond tomorrow (8/22/12), it looks like Snake Creek is closed Wednesday and Thursday.

I have a WR450, hit me up if any of you are going.

For you guys who ride at Blue D.,  who does good work on suspensions in Northern Delaware, or Southeast PA.???

I've got a 2004 YZ450F, that I might have stiffer fork springs, and a revalve done to it.  I know Ron

from Off-road Machine used to do work, but rumour has it that He's getting out of doing bike work;

I don't know if that's true though.

Any help appreciated.

I was at Blue Diamond today. The track was amazing. They added some sand in some sections and there where multiple lines in every turn. A huge improvement from 2 weeks ago.

yeah,  i was there also two weeks ago, and was not impressed with the track. Good to hear the improvements.  By the way, did you happen to hit the Intermediate track?  when I rode it, it looked like it hadn't been maintained for some time.

Butch has been around a long time. I knew guys in the early 90's that had work done by him and he had been around a while then. If anyone is going to Blue Diamond Wednesday 8/29 I'll be out there as long as the weather is good. I just spent an entire weekend at Budds Creek riding in mud and I've had enough of it for a while.
