hey,

Im just trying to figure out how difficult it is to do a complete shock and fork rebuild (swapping out springs) on my 2006 ktm 250sxf.  I am a pretty fast guy, despite being 6' 7" , 190 lbs, and race a lot of motocross and am looking to try hair scrambles.  The problem is I am a college student so I do not have a lot of money, so sending them out to be done ($500+) is not an option.  I am experienced in wrench turning, I do all my own work on my bike, but I have never touched the suspension except for fork seal changes and clicker adjustments.

Thanks for the help,

Sam

If you are just trying to swap springs out its no different than doing fork seals. If you want to valve the suspension its not really too much more work just takes a little knowledge on what the shim stacks do and how you want to alter them. Do a search on this forum and I'm sure you could find out some info on your shim stacks.

Also look in utube for videos on seal changes on tc or cc forks,  you will see the work needed to get the springs out
