Wow, the GOAT got beat by amateurs.... I'm guessing he's just having some fun, then again maybe he's trying to get his groove back?

I was there and his riding was beautiful. Like his timing of movements and the way the suspension was working everything just looked perfect when he rode. You could tell he was be farrrrrrrrrrrrrr the best out there, but he wasn't the fastest. Those top amateur guys were "over riding the track" as one of my friends put it. I think these amateur style tracks are too slow for Ricky! Some of those guys were scrubbing completely flat and sideways where Ricky would just over jump the jump haha.

he's always done little events liek this.

no, he isnt coming back to the pro races. he is past his time im sad to say it. he wont be back, and if he was, he would not win. his body would nto allow him to be as fast as he once was. and on top of that, i think he should just sit back, and relax in life...he has deserved it.

I don't know about taking out the GOAT, but if in my life I was ever presented the opportunity... I would definitely take out James Stewart. Even if he is 50 and in a wheel chair.

He didn't earn any pro points last year so he has an Amateur status now. I think at least.

Supplemental LL Rules for the National only.  Any local race he's considered an A rider:

1.  The following riders may enter the Open Pro Sport class only:
a. Riders earning 25 or less AMA Pro Racing Motocross points in either the current or previous year; and
b. Riders qualifying for an FIM MX1, MX2, MX3 Grand Prix event in the previous year.

2.  The following riders are not eligible to participate in the National program:
a. Riders earning more than 25 AMA Pro Racing motocross points in the current or previous year;
b. Riders qualifying for an AMA Supercross main event in either the Supercross Lites or Supercross class in the current or previous year;
c. Riders qualifying for an FIM MX1, MX2, MX3 Grand Prix event in the current year.

I just don't like to see ex-Pros running in the LLQ, seeing it's has Amateur in it's name "2012 Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship".

Definitely causing a buzz though...

There comes a point where someone is no longer pro and races just for fun. This is what an amateur is. The man wants to race but doesn't want to race pro and the stress that goes with it.. The man is racing open pro-sport and 25+ all of those classes are filled with either X or soon to be Pros. My only complaint is the access to equipment he has makes it pretty un fair.. I can tell you if I was racing him this year at LLs I would excersize the claiming rule and have my self a true rc4 bike haha

The claiming rule value is two times the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) at all Qualifier, Regional and National events.  A little more expensive.  I'd take the modified suspension on his bike,he probably doesn't feel anything :-)
