My buddy has this bike and doesn't know how much to sell it for. I don't either. Nada Guide isn't really accurate, it says 5,850 and even a collector wouldn't pay that lol! So, priced to sell, not totally original. Good condition. Runs. Any general ballpark estimates?

Any pictures? Good condition means different things to different people. Sometimes I worry what it would take to classify something as bad condition for some people.
I saw a mx400 that was in pretty good shape looked all original and really good for an old bike. I think the guy was asking 1500. His ad was gone in a few days so I guess he sold it or got tired of the idiots on Craigslist that make ridiculously low offers before they even look at your bike. I know it's not exactly your friends bike.
That's probably where I would list it if it hasn't been restored but is in good shape for it's age. Maybe you can get a little more in kalifornia. People in penseltucky are cheap. The nada price here for that bike is 16xx in good shape.
Pictures would really help.

It's been stripped to frame and was being built. His house caught on fire
and the project is being sold.

I might buy it and show it with my TT at some vintage shows coming up next year.

That looks like a couple hundred dollar bike to me. It's in nice shape but doesn't really look like a show bike or anything. Does it have all the side panels and everything?

Not sure. You're right though. The only reason I want it is because I am stricken with a bike hoarding disease. I am going out to look at a really nice totally original CB125 later on. Thanks for the heads up!

Are the mx's really collectable? I didn't think they were all that popular to collect. Nothing like the early 70's yz's they can bring lots of money in almost any condition.

I bet I could get like 1200 for it built, painted and running. I wouldn't market for the ccollectors, they want a concours bike or a concours possible bike imho. I think I'd build this thing, finish the paint and price it for a fair amount of profit but also to where any guy on the market for a thumping two stroke will nab it. 1200 seems just right. I saw a guy on CL selling a little DS100 for 1100, he sprayed the thing all black with rattle can and then powdercoated red accents and highlights (i.e. headlamp housing is red, the crank case is red, the rear shock springs are red, etc..) It looks like a decent enough paint job, but it isn't selling. It's been there a while. Me personally, I wouldn't want to pay 1100 for a 100cc. I want to pay 500 or 750 for a 100cc. If I was on the market for a 360 two stroke, I wouldn't expect to pay less than 1000 for a decent running dual sport.
I don't want to make a mint, just a few bucks. Even 500 profit would really make me stoked. I think I should snap it up. If it blows up in my face, atleast it's nice looking aand I can get at least 300 for it lol!

Didnt't relize the mx360 was made in 72. Hate to see such a cool project being sold.

Yeah he is kind of bummed about it. I am increasingly wanting to undertake this project, but we'll see how fate works it out.

I let the project go. I had it for 300 but I didn't feel right about the whole thing. Nice bike btw!
