Oh, and no other tweaks are needed when dropping a tooth off of the front sprocket except for perhaps something like a Speedo-healer, but with 1 tooth off, you can get away without it. Best bang for the buck, that front sprocket.....$20 for a pretty good change in feel around town.

For an R6? Hmm, that sounds tempting... Man that's just such a tasteful motorcycle I'd hate to not have it...

I can tell you a little about the 2005 R6.

I bought one for my wife so that I would have a track bike. :-)   She loves that bike.  She is pretty slow and you would think the bike would just load up and foul something but it doesn't.  It doesn't have any problems cruising around the back roads or highways.  The only problem she has is turning around in a two lane road.  Doesn't seem like it would be but it has been a great bike for her.  Now for the important part... I have a blast at the track on that thing and run it box stock in the intermediate group with no problems keeping up.  I get teased all the time because it's so quiet and the racers can't hear me.  It's a really fun little bike and seems to take all the abuse really well.  I recommend it.

I had a 2003 r6 for summer back when I live in Utah.  It was way fun but I really didn't see much use in it once I realized there was not where I could ride it like it was made to ride.  If MMP was open back then I may have kept it longer.  Great bike with tons of power and way fun to ride.  I didn't have mine long enough to notice any issues.

So you're saying the turning radius is too big? Haha no big deal, just do one of those 180* burnout U-turns dirt bikers do!

Another guy with Utah experiences ^^^ Yeah it's mostly 50% highway and 70% trails here... but there's some decent twisties (no cops) a few miles from my house in a couple directions. btw where were you located?

Lived in Payson.  The Nebo loop was fun and some cool stuff around the area but I realized I was going to kill myself if I kept it up for too long.  I sold the bike after 3 months.  I now have a Versys which is much less race oriented but still lots of fun.

You mean you "got more mature and decided the fate of your own, and your kids lives weren't worth riding a motorcycle for"? I totally understand  But I'm still young and stupid

Not really more mature as I was single with no kids at the time, just decided that I should stick to dirt as I knew my limits.  I have wrecked a few times on the street on my DS and it is not fun.  The pavement hurts a lot more than the dirt does    I was still pretty young and stupid too as I broke my leg desert racing the next year.

Oh gotcha. Yeah I think I'm more comfortable on the road, everything just seems more natural to me. Plus I've never gotten that used to my dirt bike, it can get pretty gnarley sometimes. Haven't broken anything yet though! That's gotta be fun...
