How old are you and how long have you been riding?  What kind of riding are you going to be doing?

Man, that group of bikes listed is sort of all over the map.  What is your budget?  A KTM 200 might work for you...coming off of a 125.  They are quite versitile from trial to track.

a klx and a yz80 are 2 one hundred percent different animals. the klx is undersuspended and underpowered (aka great for beginners) and the yz80/85's are 2strokes that make about double what your 125 makes and weighs roughly 2/3 to half of the 200 lbs that the klx weighs (basically a younger kids or small adults race bike)
i went from a pw 50 to a ktm 50 then a kx 60 to a rm85L to a ttr125 to a ttr250 to a crf250 to a cr125, the ttr250 was a great transition bike for me, it got me used to the big bike feel without the hardcore power that scares alot of riders, in all honesty it made me alot better rider, but thats just me.
if you think youre ready for a race style bike right now then look for a kx100 especially at 5'4" because if im not mistaken the kx100's are pretty plentiful cheap and extremely upgradable. and if you think that bike is to little power for you after getting used to the size move up!

Well if you can ride your dads kx125 without a problem i would be more inclined towards a ktm250f of some description like an EXC they are a full size bike so you might need to lower it but will handle the track and the trails. you can tame it down a bit at first with mayby a throttle stop and adjust as you get more confident. As yammablue22 stated the kx100 seems like a good option as well but just remember at your age you will grow quick and may out grow a smaller bike too quick.

I think  you are too short for the full size bikes (YZ125 and YZ250 that you listed above).  KX100 as already mentioned or any other MX bike with 19" front/16" rear wheels will be a BIG step up in power from the KLX125 (about 2.5-3 times the HP of your KLX125) and a huge improvement in suspension and braking.  Stay away from the 250 two strokes at this point in time.  That is too tall and too much machine.

Besides the KX100, I think you can consider CRF150RB (Expert), RM85L, RM100 (same as KX100), KTM 105, KTM85 Big Wheel, CR85 Expert.  These would all be good bikes to learn on before you move up to a full size 125 2t or 250 4t.

I think you mean KX100 (2 stroke MX).  I am not aware that Kawasaki has ever made a KLX100 (they have made KLX125, KLX140, KLX140L...these are aircooled 4 stroke trail bikes).  $1000 is in the ball park for the KX100....depends on what kind of shape and how many hours.  Probably needs a top end rebuild if it hasnt had one recently or ever.  Look closely at suspension and brakes as well

They have also made KLX110 and KLX110L....but again...these are aircooled 4 strokes....any of these models are way too small....and werent produced in 2001.  So, I am guessing you mean the KX 100.

pretty decent price, if its clean and has decent tires on it. i'd see if he'd take about 900 for it just because it's 11 years old.
