Anyone have pictures they would like to share of their Yamaha IT enduros? (125-490 doesn't matter they're all great) I love this series of bikes and they are rare in my area other wise i would have more than one. I'm sure someone else out there shares the love for what is essentially a blue yz with lights.

Here's my 1980 IT250 with a 1982 yz250 front end on it for beefier forks and the dual leading shoe brake.

This was my UK model Yamaha IT125H back in 1981. We didn't get the all white version.
I sold the bike a Year later and bought a new Honda XR200RC. I have another IT125H, it's awaiting restoration !

I'll post up some of my current IT's later.

Jonboat aren't you in pa? Are you close to trevorton/shamokin or st. Clair? That's where we ride. It's an hour and a half drive but its worth it.

The IT's aren't to common around here either. I'd love to find a 250 to ride. I was slightly underwhelmed riding the it175 especially after riding an it250 a year earlier. It's nice on tight trails but in open areas it could use some more power. My dt400 and a friends xl 500 will eat the bike alive. Yeah its over twice the displacement but they aren't race bikes and weigh 300lbs.

I rode with a friend who had a dt400 once and my IT left it in the dust the dt was a dog it couldnt keep speedup on hill climbs and had slow acceleration, not sure if it was just his bike or not but it was comfortable to ride lol

An IT250 would leave my bike in the dust for sure. The 175 is what I was referring to. The 250's rip pretty good and is probably my dream bike. My friend with the 175 had a beat up 250 that had the clutch basket grenade and destroy a few other parts such as the case. That bike was awesome. I think an IT400 would probably be too much the 250 is a perfect size.

Here is my 1977 IT175D.

As some of you may know the Yamaha IT range was not officially imported into the UK until 1980.
This one was privately imported to the UK from the States in 1978, and ridden in Enduro for a while.

I bought it a few years ago, and ride it when the weather is good and the bones don't ache !

I usually swop the seat, tank and side panels for a very used set before riding !

Yeah I'm familiar with that area. My dad's side of the family is from there so we are up there a few times a year. I'm sure you know about Reading Anthracite then if you live that close to St. Clair. I wish I lived closer.

I bet that thing is a beast. I rode my friends yz 465 and it was insane. Whenever the thing would actually get traction you'd be doing a wheelie no matter what gear your in. It's no fun on the trails but on wide open fields and the coal hills it's lots of fun to open her up and hold on for dear life.

All your bikes look great. What kind of paint did you use on your engine? I'm looking to paint the engine and cases on my bike but want something that's gonna not look like junk in a few rides. I'm okay with wear marks like whats on your IT425 but my case looks like it's been through a sandblaster or something.

I used this stuff for the engine : http://www.ebay.co.u...=item41611f129b

Posted Image

Not sure if it is available in the States.

I have had other engines powder coated satin black, it seems more scratch resistant than the rattle can paint.
