Race from this weekend, veryyy muddy. Rained the entire time before the race and after the race. Lens lasted about 10 seconds before it got covered with mud, then shut off from a branch i believe.

worry about the race and not the video. if the video turns out crappy oh well. or if its crappy weather, turn the go pro around to face the rear.

Go out and invent a go pro tear-off and make millions.

i saw a enduro video and the guy had a tear off system on his, everytime there was a bit of traffic he reached up and pulled one off, the video was from europe and it had multiple parts hope that helps you find the video so you can ask the rider

Whats wrong with the good old finger wipe ? Whenever water or mud hit my googles, I just whip out
my trusty finger and wipe away. Does not always work great but most of the time it does the trick.
I dont race so taking my hand off the throttle for 1.5 seconds is generally not a problem,
but a tear off would probably take a little longer. I tend to switch fingers when they get dirty.

I just put a bit of cling film over the lense and when i pull a tear off on my goggles i pull it off the gopro! Only thing is you can only put one on each race....

How would you know if there's mud on the gopro? If your goggles are getting crap on them I guess you can assume your gopro is getting it too.But you don't know until after the ride... You can randomly wipe your gopro with your fingers but how would you know if you're just smearing crap around? Maybe you can buy those clear adhesive films they sell for cell phone screens and cut it to size. But that's just a one time tear off...

they amke go pro wraps now, im sure it would be easy to make a camo one. if you mount the go pro to the tree or something then it will be fine. they arent going to notice that if its stationary and how small it is.
