Hi guys I have been everywhere trying to find a place to ride but it seems like everyone wants to keep a secert or somthing. I respect the land and am a pretty laid back guy so pls shoot me some areas to go ride in.

I drive to riverdale raceway or clark county indoors in the winter,there is nothing close that I know of, except there is a small riding area on post, I have never been there but heard its nothing special.

Secret? There have been discussions about riding at tahuya near belfair, walker valley near mt. Vernon, and mattawa nearly DAILY all winter long.

ya i guess secret wasnt the right word i was looking for a public place to ride intead of a ohv park. I guess i am just not familiar to the area and need help getting started learning the lay of the land and all the riding spots. On that note i think i will visit the local motorcycle shop tomorrow and ask around there. Or if somebody could give me some really dumed down direction to the location of some cool areas. I have also heard i need a Wasington state sticker to ride in alot of places where can I get one of those.

look on the Northwest Motorcycle Association or WOHVA web sites. Each have profiles of places to ride.

what type of riding are you interested in?

If you mean away from the base, Capital Forest, GPNF, Straddleline are the closer areas.

the on post orv park is right outside of scouts out gate about 2 miles. if that gate is closed go out of east gate and take the turn at the C-5 mockup. Go about 75 meters and take the dirt road that goes up the hill. when you get to a hardball the orv staging area is on your right. its a very small area consisting of two small pits with connector trails. it needs some maintenance right now, a lot of downed trees on smaller trails. I was there yesterday because i needed a quick fix because i couldnt make it out to ride with old grunt. if you want to hit the trails take trailmeister Joe's advice and hook up with old grunt. he runs the Troop Support Brigade and takes troops out riding. I've been out riding with him twice and its been a blast both times. he even has extra bikes/gear so you can bring a friend with you.

  Its probably not worth the trouble to try to get people authorized to go out there.  You know the government creates so many hoops to jump through that it would be a pain.  I'll just send them a message and let them know it needs some fixing up.  they do get out there to work on it sometimes.  i've seen a bucket loader filling in some of the lakes in the pits before.

Hey Grunt, hit me up if you ever need a place to ride with the troops.  I'm active duty AF myself here at JBLM and have a couple MX tracks here at my place out in Roy.  One is a pretty sick mini track and the other is for big bikes.  Also have a small trail loop.  Mini track is about to be renovated to prep for the Vegas Mini SX.  I'm not sure how aggressive the riders are that you ride with but its a good setup for learning.
