Hey guys, I am looking at a couple different KTM 690s for sale. I live up in Chico, CA and found out that you can't register a 49 state bike here unless it has 7500 miles on it. Not all the ones that I am looking at have that many miles.
How easy is it to swap the odometer on the KTM 690 SM so I could register it and switch it back?
Thanks
Swapping odometer on 690SM because can't register in Cali?

Not that I would ever condone a circumvention of the system... Swapping speedo's is fairly easy, so long as it's with one of the same type. There is a single 32-pin connector and 3 rubber-damped screws which hold it in place.
You can use a speedo from any 2007- up 690 SM, any year 690 SMC, 2008 OR 2012 690 Enduro.
The speedo's from 2009 - 2011 690 Enduro's will NOT work. They use a breakout cable from the speedo (rather than the 32-pin connector).

Send the bike to WV and I will ride the miles that you need and ship it back to you. Really I hope it works out for you.
