I think some of you are forgetting how badass RV is, yes dungey is an outdoor threat but saying that he is weeks ahead of poto is ridiculas,  how is someone that is coming off surgery ahead of someone who had been racing/training nonstop fitness wise??  I dont see dungey winning another supercross race this year, he should stay of SX and start prepping for outdoors where atleast he has a chance at some wins.  If he were to come back right now i think he would be a top 5 sx guy, i think brayton would beat him straight up.

You don't know ,much about how a professional athlete trains when not in season do you.  It is 100% more intense and weeks make a huge difference.

I know quite a bit about how professional athletes train when in season and when in off-season.  I know that they're training schedule is not nearly as intense as pre-season but How is someone that had surgery and is trying to heal in better shape than someone who is currently riding/racing?  this logic really puzzles me, I know his injury was not very severe BUT its still an injury and hes still taking time off to heal. so please, tell me what im missing.

Aerobic training at 100% is possible for him right now.  If he chooses to skip SX  the extra 2 months of aerobic is going to be a game changer for MX.

Lets use some logic you seem to be forgetting,,,,,, Dungey finished a very close second to RV ( was actually killing the lap times) WITH the injury!!That is quite a bit better than just top five.  It is now repaired and should be able to jump right back without dropping much speed.

Game changer?  Keep dreaming.  RV is a beast outdoors and anyone who thinks that RD will be in a better position than RV when the outdoor season starts is seriously making stuff up in their head to believe that.  Are you forgetting that RD is on a new team and will be racing a new bike?

What new team?  You mean his old team from 2010, when he won 2 titles as a rookie, last year he was on a new team and his team failed him. And now he is riding a motorcycle for a factory that actually cares about dirt bike riders.  Dungey is going to be the man to beat at the Nationals.

I completely agree with you on the first statement.  The second statement is a stretch.  However, I applaud your enthusiasm for the local boy.  I hope that he gives RV a run for his money and makes the season interesting.  It would be nice if there were 3 or 4 other riders battling for 1st place on a weekly basis.

2 titles as a rookie with next to no competitiion, similiar to what villapoto is doing right now in SX.  I get that  Dungey is extremely fast, and maybe even faster than RV but not right now or this year, New bike, stacked ontop of an injury, going into outdoors without the confidence that RV has, the cards are just not in dungeys hand right now.  I hope he comes back next year and takes a title i really do wish for that, but i just dont see it happening this year.

Roger said he hopes Ryan can race the last three SX races. It'll depend on what the doc says next week.
