2004 KTM200EXC, low hours on top end, starts first kick when cold but when it's hot it takes 3-5 hard kicks. I run LL100 AV gas that I'm sure does not help hot starting. It runs great except for hot starts so I'm not sure which way to go with it.

first of all, no need to run anything above 93 unless you have some serious compression. sounds like jetting is too rich.

I choke it to start it but maybe I should try it without the choke to see if it will start.

I think timmy's point, or what he was alluding to is that if you don't have to choke to start, it's too rich. also, if you AS is out past 2 turns, it's too rich.
no hot starting could be an electrical issue as well, or low compression.

OK...Thanks, It has great compression on fresh top end. I just tried to start it without choke and it would not start but my suspension guy has the forks and shock and It was not a fair test on the stand. When I get them on I'll try it again. The air screw was 3/4 turn out. Is that an air screew meaning out is leaner or fuel meaning out it richer?

Hooly crap!! I just tried it again on the stand with the choke on and forgot the silencer was off. I liked to jump out of my skin when that thing fired up in the garage! I imediatly turned off the choke and turned the AS out to 1.5 out and it still ran perfect even thou it was still cold. Im thinking it should have got boggy but it did not.

It wound up sucking a reed. After reed was replaced it stars with half kick hot or cold. The reed must have been going bad.
