Just wondering if anyone thinks this thing is fixable by looking at the pictures. Laid it down and hit a curb.. It never rolled. Thanks

Any wreck is "fixable", the questions is how much $$ you are willing to spend to fix it.

The frame alone is enough to total that bike.

Like Cat mentioned, you CAN fix anything, but what's the cost vs. benefit? That looks to me to be a decade old GSXR1000k....I doubt it's worth putting back to street duty. You "might" be able to make a decent track bike out of it, but that frame will put anyone off until it can be verified as straight.

Best bang for the buck could be parting it out.

You're fortunate not to be in the hospital....can we attribute that to luck or your safety gear?

If you plan on rebuilding I'd recommend taking the bike to a reputable shop and having them evaluate the condition of the frame/subframe/forks.  From there you can get an idea of how much $$ you need to put out to reconstruct, and whether it's cost effective.  So are you O.K?.

Looks like a good candidate for a streetfighter to me! Hope you're not as banged up as the bike!

Totaled...

The only hope for that bike that may be cost worthy is to find a roller. Ive seen a few floating around locally but I dont know about your situation.

Agreed. Totaled. Other than a new ride best plan is to find a decent roller w/ a toasted engine and swap out.

Totaled? I think that's a bit to far to say that. Honestly as long as the forks are straight and you think the frame is straight its still a perfectly good bike. buy a new front fairing for it or make it into a street fighter.

Thanks for the replies. I was able to walk away ,thanks to my icon jacket and helmet. But had some serious road rash from my toes to my hip. My helmet looked like it went threw a meat grinder. That was a fun scrub down at the hospital.  After evaluating my options, I would say that my best bet would be to part it out. But I would love to turn it into a street fighter, just not positive on how straight she is.

I had a bike that looked way worse than that . I took it to my local shop in Pa.  Beaver Creek Cycles  and got a call in about a week telling me the good news It cost about $800 but bike looked better than ever when I got it back

Just pull off the danglers and see how straight it it. Should be pretty obvious if it's way off. Check if the forks are straight, I have a feeling if the clipon is snapped then the fork is probably tweaked. New ones can probably be had off Ebay for not too much if they're messed up. Also make sure the frame isn't cracked, check the neck area and depending on how hard the curb hit was the motor mounts might have cracks.

Being an optimist, it looks like you may be able to get by with a set of forks and clipons, but it's hard to tell with the parts still dangling off...

Even if it's totaled, you can probably get a rebuilt title for it. I got my 636 with a rebuilt title and it was sound... of course, now I'm getting a new VIN for the new frame I just made for it! :banghead:

Junkyards around here are full of wrecked bikes, I say go on a scavenger hunt after complete disassembly.
