So I got some great suggestions on what to add to my 97 kx 250 for a woods bike but... I was scouring craigslist and found a 93 kdx200 really cheap. They say it needs a top end, but well we all know the routine now. I plan on looking at it and checking out the bore etc before I decide. I know this bike has a very strong following for a woods bike im just wondering what its really worth, if it only needs a top end and rear fender as stated what would be a good price? Also is there anything specific I should look out for on this particular bike?
1993 Kdx 200?

$300 for a non running kdx is tops,if all else is good. A friend of mine bought a 90kdx that"needed a top end", and by the time he put it back together correctly, he had an additional $600 into it......It was not worth $900 when all was said and done. There are plenty of these bikes available for 800-1000$, so dont go over $300 for a super nice one!

bikes must be cheap up there! You rarely see a roller under 500 around here, and anything running brings 1000+ easily. On top of that, there isn't "plenty" of anything available right now except for ragged out 4 strokes. Used 2 strokes seem to be bringing a premium.
It really totally depends on where you are. Check your local craigslist to see what they are going for in running condition. Check out the bike, figure out what it needs to be repaired/freshened up, add that to the purchase price and if you come out lower than the average going rate you're doing good.
