Just remember Stewart is famous for prefering a setup that would drive most suspension guys nuts. Stewart likes extra rear sag and ungodly stiff forks. RC had similar preferences. In fact RC like older gas charged forks the best (eeek). To each his own. Stewart is not in the zone consistantly. That is and will always be his fatal flaw till he hangs up his mx booties.

Stewart sucks because he is a douche and has a crappy camp who lets him ride like a douche. His bike may not be the best, but he has the skills to ride it up front, but smothing does not allow him to ride within his limits and finish first.

Blamming it on the bike is just another douche move.

He use to dominate the whoops with his unorthodox suspension settings.......Not anymore


Maybe Bubba should hire Doug Dubach to set up his suspension and actually listen to him. Nobody knows more about he Yamaha more than DB

Nice take on things.  

I have not yet heard him really complain about the bike.   He may make a comment here and there about the setup.  But he isn't blaming the bike.  Where did you hear him say that its the bikes fault I'm not winning.

I was working off the title. Its not the bike, its him, because he has the talent and speed, he just cant keep his head out of his ass more often than not to finish a race. If he would settle for a top 5 finish sometimes he would be right there with RV.

   This I agree with.   Expectations are high for this guy...probably too high.  New team, new sponsors, new effort all around from a guy who for the past few years has just been a part time racer.   Before that, he was a part time racer because of his many injuries.

A little less for him could turn out to be a whole lot more.  

He's our last real chance for some meaningful competitive racing.  I think we all want him to get it together so the outcomes of the races aren't so darn predictable.

i was only joking my  2011 yz450f is the best bike i have ever had it handles amazing.

I'm guessing he isn't complaining about the bike PUBLICALLY because he isn't allowed to say a word publically.

He has no confidence, he hates his bike and I owned a Yamaha, never again. It doesnt even compare to the Honda or Suzuki's ive rode.
His tires might suck too but I cant comment on that.

So if he were riding a Suzuki or Honda he'd have confidence?  Would he still suck riding a bike that is not crappy?

People keep mentioning DM18 but you have to realise that Davie and JS7 are two different people with two DIFFERENT riding styles. The only way we can see if the Yami is the problem is if he picks a different color....

So does the honda suck because canard keeps crashing out on it? Its not the bike at all, if it was the bike he wouldn't win heat races all the time. Its Stewart plain and simple.

What you said is interesting. I agree with you that certain bikes fit certain riders better or worse and that mill saps and stew have different styles. I think the difference between what you are talking about and what some of the Stewart fan boys suggest is that you are suggesting the Yamaha doesn't fit his style or his size but the fan boys are suggesting that the yamaha has a fatal flaw such that it won't work for anyone. There is a big difference in the two and I for one dont think the Yamaha has a fatal flaw. It can be made to work well, all of the sx bikes are highly modified from what you buy off the floor.

I think more like 95% 5% lol.  I have friends who you can put on a borrowed clapped out cr125 and they are still faster than almost everyone at the track.  Maybe he isn't the most comfortable looking on his bike but I also think everyone else has been stepping their game up while stewart is staying at about the same level.  He was the guy to beat before....but not so much anymore.
