Im looking at getting a crf450r and ive been thinking the 08 since the 09-12 have terrible feedback what yall think?

I think you should get a 12 and get the suspension set up for you. RG3 did mine for $525. But I am not a fan of the older Honda chassis.

I do my own suspension im not woried about bike setup and parts i just want a good base bike to start with im pretty scared to buy a 09 and up from all the reviews ive heard... Just need some first hand

I went from 06 to 09 and absolutely love the 09, turns amazing and its so light

The 08 will go down in history as one of the best Hondas ever built.

The 08 may go down in history... but the 09+ is still lighter and for me handles better. I really think they are a much better bike, once you set it up for you. really thought both the 08 and 09+ are great bikes and are very common and popular. do you really not know anyone that has one you could ride or at least talk to face to face about them? lots of opinions on the internet but yours is the only one that really matters.

I had an 08 and loved it.

Would love to get on a newer one and try it out though. I'm sure they are all great bikes.

I love my 08 but have never ridden a FI bike, i am thinking of switching to a new crf250.

I own an 08 with an FMF Megabomb and FMF silencer and I also recently purchased a 2011 with a Yoshi Pipe.  The 08 is hands down a better bike - smoother power that never quits and the bike has great suspension.  I'm currently dumping money into my 11 to make it run/turn/and handle like my 08.  The 2011 is very responsive and has great bottom and then flattens out quickly as if you are riding a 250F.  Honda should remake the 08 as the 2013.

I have an 11' and its absolutely an amazing machine. Im not sure what the other guy was saying about the 08' having smoother power delivery. The 11 with the FI is so smooth and crisp. And the turning and handling is hands down one pf the best out of the top four. I have ridden all of them but the Suzuki and the crf450 feels like it is a 250. Wont ever ride another bike.

It's all just opinions. I liked the 08. I liked the 09. I like the 12. They are all awesome bikes.
