clutch actuator mod

does the actuator arm have to be from a yz400f? or can a 00 yz426f arm do the same? i searched on here but could not find if it needs to exactly from a 400, i can get one from my buddys 426 so im looking to be able to do the mod

Ask if you can borrow it really quick and see if it works.

Enlighten me on this mod if you can Swede. I am rebuilding a 250F and if this makes pulling the clutch in easier I will just order the correct actuator from the dealership. Thanks. :thumbsup:

Here is a link of what he is talking about. It's a few years old so I'm not sure if the 450 clutch arm will work or just the older 400. There is also a link to the actual magazine article. Scroll down to the bottom.

Thanks Swede. I know a lot of tricks on these bikes but its nice to learn new ones. :thumbsup:

Cut and weld works also. Cut in half and then build up bout 3mm weld on one side then fuse back together.

I have a welder and am great at fabrication but am also a perfectionist. I looked up the link that Swede posted and I am going with the 5mm longer YZ400F actuater. It just looks cleaner. Thanks though. :thumbsup:

It's 5mm longer. No the 426 is not the same lenght as the yz400 '98 or '99 model. I have one on mine now and I've put them on all my 250f's. It makes for easier pull and I like the modulation better as the stock actuation is too much ON or Off for my taste. This mod lets you slip the clutch.
