I did the flat track last time......pretty cool, although it will get away from you in a blink!

It should be fun. At least there I can use some of the my street bike knowledge.

I am heading up there the end of next week (spring break for my 12th grader).  My older son also got off work that week so we are going up Thursday and come home Monday.  We will be in the camp ground (small toy hauler).  Brett and Rob should be there too.  Wish we could join you but I have to go when the kid can get off.

If you are into MX my 2 boys (18 and 22) are all over that.  They do every track and every jump except the Bomber track.  We were there when it first opened and it was a pro level track (SX style).  I heard they have tamed it down and moved thier local MX series to that track now.  I like the GP style track out in the woods.  It has some nice "little" jumps but has a lot of elevation changes and is fairly tight through the woods for a MX track.

We will give you a ride report when we get back.  Keep your fingers crossed for good weather.  Last year we were there for spring break and about got washed away.  it raind for 3 days and temps were in the 40's when we decide to leave.  Scott was there and fearlessly led us on a quest for ridable singletrack.  We managed to find some ground that was not under water or a mud pit.

I'm located about 1.5 hours from Durhamtown and would love to join in on this for at least a day or so.  Doubt I could camp, but I could shoot down there one morning ride all day and head back that evening.

Got back from Dtown last night.  Had 3 great days of riding.  You gotta hit the Bomber track.  It is a lot of fun and tamed down since it was first built.  We did  a LOT of MX for 3 days.  The first time for me on the 300 at Dtown and it loved the jumps!  Jumps I struggled with on the heavy 450 were effortless on the 300.  Be prepared for a lot of "blue groove" on the other tracks as a lot of the dirt is blown off.  The Bomber actually has some good dirt and is well maintained.  We got an inch of rain Friday night so Saturday was a little slick and soupy.  Sunday I finally did some singletrack by myself and once again found out why I like the 300.  The singletrack was very tight but not technical (like HP).  There were roots, mud and the ruts were full of water but it really did not seem to make any difference.  The singletrack down by the bridge on the other side of the creek was closed due to Turkey season.  However there are some others recently reopened.  Temps were nice upper 50's low 60's at night and low 80's during the day.

If I could ride every other day I would never need to go to the gym.  I had the best arms.shoulder, legs workout just riding for 3 solid days.  I think I even lost a few pounds.  My boys could definitely tell I was in better shape than they were.  Putting in a lot of back to back laps on the MX track is more intense than the singletrack I rode.  I also did the enduro section and cleared everything except the big metal culvert pipe.  I "creeped" up it and got on the top where there was about a foot and a half of air under both the front and back tire.  I also skipped the biggest log as it looked like  a "pipe buster". and I don't have a skid plate.  I did bend my chain guide I think in the "rock garden" section.  It had several logs, some "peaky" dirt mounds,  car tires buried in about a third, telephone poles laid side by side, and some poles that were too tight for handlebars you had to navigate through.  We also spent some time at the Redlands and did the steepest cliff both up and down.  As you went up it actually curved outward.

We have plenty of video that I will post as soon as I can get it all edited.

Have fun and stay off the ground it is very hard, just ask Cody!

Took a bit longer to get to Durhamtown than expected thanks to a few accidents.

When I arrived I couldn't believe how many people are here. On a weekday no less!!!

The people here are nice, but they couldn't find the correct key to my place.

I pointed out a key on the key chain in the lobby and the lady said it wasn't it. Guess what 3 hours later it was the key that opened up my RV.

The bikes are prepped and ready to go. I haven't spent much time riding other that some short stints because my back still isn't right, but once the adrenaline gets to going I'm sure I'll be over on the freestyle course. Watching of course ;-)

Team Wanker is supposed to arrive around midnight. I expect them in around 4 or whatever time the local nuddy bar closes.

Looking forward to tomorrow. Reports to come!

PS: This place is HUGE to say the very least.

Durhamtown was good...riding & hanging out with your Buds ...even better. A couple life skills were taught this weekend...how to survive D-Town.... . The place is huge & the singletrack challenging, still have a few ledges to conquer at the Redlands & couple rocks climbs to beat ...next time. Now go ahead & post those Goofy pic's.
Cheers to all....
