Ride test with the .44springs, very, very light oil-middle of the range oil level. FAIL. Some will not believe this but bike is SAME whether .44-.45-.46 springs, or normal oil at high, middle or very low level. Choppy, pounding, skittery ride and still at least three inches of travel unused. Can only ride at about 80% since I cannot trust what the front end will do. Rear also poor but I can live with it.  I sure appreciate all the help everyone has offered but I GIVE UP!!!!!! Have had two year of no fun riding and am not letting any more life slip away.  Thanks again.

sorry to hear you giving up but I was at the very same place.Ready to give up on bike and had someone ready to buy.Now I am glad I didn't and wouldn't get rid of it ever and I am very picky. For the record it was never right befor reducing preload and such an easy thing to do

If you have that much travel left the mid must be too stiff

let us know what you get.  I rode a new 250x and it  reminds me of my kdx with quiet abit more everwhere. If you you are going to stay with 2t Ktm seems to be the easiest game to play. Won't get rid of current bikes but might want to try e-start on my next bike
