shifting while bike is at 1/4-half throttle bad or good?

well today I was rising whoops in the sand and I noticed myself holding the throttle a little bit while I was shifting and I'd let out the clutch quickly and the motor would drop in rpms obvisouly cause I'm changing gears is this bad for my motor?

Not bad for the motor but your clutch may wear a little quicker than normal. Don't be too worried about it.

There will almost always be a  drop in the revs when up shifting. A tip could be to only use what clutch is required to get that pressure off the gears, that is requires to shift. Adjust the clutch so that it is comfortable to you. I know that when I'm street riding, or at a track on my sport bike, they suggest putting a little pressure on the shift lever just before you are going to shift, and when you let off the gas, you wont have to let off as much to get it to shift into the next gear. I apply this to my dirtbike as well, and it seems to work. Give it a shot. May take a little practice to get used to, but can save seconds and revs when shifting.
