KX100 dirt start, 1st or 2nd gear?

Just wondering what you guys have your kids do, 1st or 2nd gear starts?

Seems like first gear was the fastest

how much does your kid weigh? Even on a mini i would think 2ed would be faster, he might just have to practice to get the clutch work down.

we are at 4600 ft also.

When I had my kx100 second gear was always faster. You have to shift too fast out of first but I live probably 100ft above sea level.
