Planning a short trip to Brown Mtn. ORV trail N.C

Me and a buddy are gonna go to Brown Mtn. ORV trail in North Carolina on Oct. 25-26. I will be coming from Atlanta and my friend is coming from Raleigh. Getting there around 11:00-12:00 noon on saturday and riding the rest of the day, camping out that night at one of the campsites at the trail and then riding at least half the day sunday. I have not been there before so I am really looking forward to it. Would like to meet some guys from the forum too. So who is in?

I have only ridden the trail a couple of times but its worth the trip. the top of the mountain has an asphalt parking area.Its huge but will be packed by 11:00. Dont sweat it if it rains. We rode all day in the rain and our bikes stayed clean. The sand mixed with the rocks and dirt make excellent terrain. It is very different but awesome. Some advise. Try and hook up with someone that knows the trails. They are very confusing at first. We spent all day riding in circles at first. We are planning a trip back soon

I'll let you know if it falls on that weekend. I'm the lonesome yamaha rider with my KTM buddies. I sure hate having to stop and wait on them so much. Have fun

Thanks for the advice. I have been trying to hook up with someone that has been up there before, but no luck yet. I guess we will just have to go exploring. If you don't end up going that weekend, let me know when you do go. Maybe I can meet you up there on another weekend. I am really looking forward to the trip.

If we get there by 11:00am on Saturday, do you think we will be able to still get a campsite? That is about as early as we can get there.

I only saw a few campsites on the way up the mountain and they looked full. However, there is a bigger campsite a little down the road. Hang a left as you are coming out the park and look for the signs. Have fun, Bill
