Hey guys I am looking at buying an 07 690 SM with about 8,000 miles on it. He changed the oil every 1,500 miles, has had the valves adjusted and kept up on maintenance. It has full Leo Vince exhaust but hasn't been tuned for it. He is asking $5,000 for it. Is this a good price?

How often do these things typically need to be rebuilt?

Is there a chance that this bike has been running too lean this whole time from not being tuned with the full exhaust?

Any other expensive maintenance that would be coming up?

Thanks

If the bike is clean, I say that is a good deal. Mine is an '07 with 12K miles and I would not sell it for that little money.

If it has not been abused, that engine is just broken in, I wouldn't worry about rebuilding it anytime soon. The only real problem on those engines are the valve rocker arms. They are under $150 for the set, and easy to replace.

I don't think you can do any real damage with the FI bikes even when running lean. If it has all the baffles in, it is probably running fairly well with the stock mappings.
