Hey I was wondering if anyone knows of any tracks that are pretty forgiving. I'm not a total newbie on a bike I've just never been on a legit track before.

I thought all MX tracks were for beginners.

Most all of them I have been to are ridable for all levels.  Fingers Lakes MX in Columbia is nice, HLR motorsports in Moberly has a supercross style track and an outdoor track that are nice.   Like most things though, just ride the tracks to your ability and not above and you'll be fine.

Hill Top MX in Mexico is a death trap if ya ask me,  big fricking birm on a cliff, kicker jumps down a 200ft hills.   It's fun but to ride it fast ya have to be good.

Ha ha, LOL.:-)))
Briggs you're funny . . . I know what you mean though, after you tackle the "simple" obstacles like jumps, etc., then you might be ready for some tight/technical SINGLE TRACK!!!!

Seriously though, there are a lot of MX'rs out there that think "trail" riding is easier than track riding.
They would be enlightened quickly on one of your rides . . . .

hwy65mx isn't too bad.  the track at grandvalley mx has nothing but table tops so its VERY SAFE.

There are a lot of trail riders who think MX is easy who haven't ever been on a motocross track, too.

I'd be out of my element on a tough single track, and most trail riders I know would be out of their element on a motocross track.  It's all about what you're used to doing on a dirt bike.

I always go to moberly since it's really forgiving.  There are a few big jumps in the back that I roll over but the rest of the track is fun.  Did they fix finger lakes up?  I haven't been to that track in years, when it used to be nothing but hard pack asphalt equivalent crap.

Oh, for sure. the speed of even "C" class MX'rs is sometimes surprising on MX tracks.
It's good cross-training to do both!

ISX, are you talking about the Vintage and PV track? I've never been there, but what you said sounds good.
We're racing vintage and pv there next month, looking forward to it.

Not sure how long it has been since you were there, but the last couple years they have maintained it better.   I hear they are only running 2 races there this year so it will probably only be kept up twice which means rutted up and hard packed the rest of the time.

I would be up to check out their trails again.  I was probably 12 the last time I was there, 10 years ago.  It was bad enough that I never cared to go back, but it would sure be nice to go somewhere closer than chadwick.  Finger lakes is an hour from me, chadwick is more like 3.
