I had my first mechanical breakdown with my 09 450. I have a rear flat tire. Put air in it yesterday and today it is flat again. So all you honda owners with your valves, kawasaki with your pistons, and suzuki owners with your soft cheap bolts stripping out. I HAVE A FLAT TIRE. Guess I will just get rid of it. I am not putting that kind of money in a 2 year old bike.

Ugh... I can relate.

Last year my '09 yz450 wore out 3 rear tires, and you know what ? Over 2 seasons on that bike (120.4 hours) and my valves never needed to be re-shimmed. I had an '05 crf450 before that bike and I got 68 hours on it before the intake valves were finished.

I'll tell you, I really miss spending $500 on replacing intake valves and with the new model crf's I'm sure I could spend another $600 on a 6 spring clutch... which again, would be a complete waste of my money.

But between wearing out tires, burning fuel, and wearing out brake pads my yz450's (bought my 2nd new '09 this past Jan).... not wasting money on parts I shouldn't have to is really starting to get old.

 :bonk:

Usually my bike starts with one, maybe two, kicks. But yesterday it took three to get the damn thing going.

Guess i'm going bike shopping again, funds permitting

Between my 02 426 and my 00 CR500, I am up to my eyeballs from repair bills! I think I'll part one out since both need to have their air filters cleaned. Sheesh, where are these electric bike already?
