CDI and Yamalink from 2009 on 2003?

Recommended Posts

Wondering if any one knows if a 2009 CDI will work in my 2003?

Yes, the '09 CDI should work on the '03. You won't see any performance gain though. You will probably see a drop in performance from the different timing map.

How about a 2009 Yamalink. This is used for lowering the front suspension. Cant tell by looking on manufactures page if the diffent yars are interchangable.

Do you mean lowering the rear suspension? I'm not aware of any 'link' in the front suspension, unless someone put a front end from a 1972 DKW on your bike.

If you want to lower your bike, the easiest and cheapest way is to use spacers in the damper cartridge in the fork and shock and run a shortened set of fork springs. This will lower both ends and cost about half of what a link will cost.
