So I was looking at the one that came into my dealership.( already sold) and the plastics fit right on to the 11-12 bikes. I wanted to buy a set and I looked it up,  if you want to buy the shrouds you have to return your damaged ones when you get the new set.

I wonder if it is a red bull thing or a Ktm thing?  I've heard red bull doesn't let anyone run their logo.
I'm nearly positive that I saw some Red Bull graphics in the power parts catalog. Actually it may have been Ktm-Parts. Perhaps they jusy don't want anybody using the new plastics.

Does anyone know if there is a service manual/cd for the factory edition yet?, I can't find one anywhere, it would be nice to know how to work on it.

Just got mine last night ...  was breaking it in today ...

Feels (ergos) great ...  even compared to my 2012 450SX-F!!  Almost extra modern. Cant wait for track time.

Have found one issue to keep an eye on:  The one bolt which I assume holds the valve train was slightly loose and leaking some oil.  Cranked it down a little and still getting a smidge of oil ... but who knows...

Got a chance to ride the new scoot today and I was very impressed.  The biggest endorsement I can give the bike is that it's a blast to ride - I didn't want to get off of it. Feels light in the air (dare I say 250f feeling) and planted in the corners.  The suspension is good - not great and I can see where a revlave to give more bottoming resistance will be necessary.  I always get my susp revalved anyways, but stock it's better than most.

If you are lucky enough to own one of these, you won't be sorry.

would a skidplate for a 2012 xcw 450,500 fit ?

Yes it fits like it's made for it. Picked up my new SX F yesterday then ran over to the KTM dealer were I get all my parts (3 Bros racing in New port Beach Ca) and ordered a FMF exhaust and also got a skid plate for it. Same skid plate as the 2012 450, 500 EXC / XC-W

mxengineer4, my cam chain tensioner is about half the length of yours and is silver, anyone else have a different looking chain tensioner on the factory edition?

ktm231,

My tensioner is the same as in mxengineer4's pictures. The tensioner on my 2012 500 EXC (same engine on the out side) is short and silver like it sounds yours is. Wonder why yours is the shorter silver one?

That is kind of odd, another guy I know just got his and he has the shorter silver tensioner like mine?

Three Brothers was a good experience. I have been to many dealers i would say this one is at the top of my list.. No games at all.

Anyone know who's got backgrounds available for the FE yet?  Doesn't quite look like the same plates ....

I would go to a local backgrounds designer and get it done. That is my plan, as the 5 does not cut it for me. I am getting just a small 507 to cover the 5

Decal Works has them, mine will be here this week, you just have to call to order them.

I agree! Three BrosRacing is where I get all my KTM parts.. Wish I would could have given them my business when I bought my 2012 500 EXC and my Dungey replica, but I had already bought the EXC and put a deposit on the Dungey at another dealer when I discovered them. Not that I had any issues with the dealer I bought my bikes from, its just Three Bros Racing is the place to go in So Cal if you have a KTM. They aslo have Burg and Husky.
