I have just installed my JD jetting kit and whilst I now have heaps of extra power and the bikes starts easy and goes well it misses occasionally while I ride it?
Any hints as to what is the cause and possible remedy?
Cheers
Craig

A miss is usually ignition.  I would start with the simplest thing; replace the plug, gap it correctly, and use dialectric grease in the boot when you put it back on.

Also check the ground off the ignition coil and make sure it has a clean and tight connection to the frame.

Jim.

Is it a miss or could it be a surge, if it is running lean it could surge. Is the miss at partial throttle or on the gas?

What Jim said.

If you took the tank off, you might have bumped the main connection next to the coil, pulled a harness wire to partial connection, have a loose battery ground, etc.

That, or you are running out of gas.

Ok will top off the tank,
I will check the ignition grounding and change the spark plug,

It seems to miss at any stage both on and off the gas.

I will report backbagain after doing the above.
Thanks

So was as simple as a new spark plug.
Many thanks.
