Chad and his team have to represent at future events, I would like to see another aussie maybe a developing Rider like Codie Mackie or Tye Simmons , One of the Moss brothers would be good but I Think he will find a Westcoast lites Honda rider.

But as a big risk Christophe Pourcel has the skills

Pourcel, pfft :bonk: that dude is done here in the U.S.  It would be cool to see Tomac on there.  Positive, keep him racing until the title race in Vegas.  Negative, possibility of getting injured and loosing the championship.  I hope Chad isn't out for too long but I doubt that, that was a nasty get off.

MAX!!!

Pourcel nor Facciotti  (who ever he is) will probably contend for a title. They will also not be the popular "name" that sponsors would want representing their product for the top dollar that they are probably spending with 22 Motorsports.    Would Fox, Belray, Honda, etc... really get behind those guys.    They are probably good riders and good guys, but just haven't earned the reputation to replace one of the most popular guys in the sport.

these racers, as valuable as they are to the supercross series for racing purposes, are 10x more valuable to the sponsors.

Chad's team may be in a tough position.   I don't know what their backup plan is to keep the money flowing, but I sincerely hope its a good one,.

"If" team TwoTwo needs a interumn rider, IMO, his best bet is to go out and bring in Ben Townley 101. Ben is someone who is very capable of a top 3 finish!

I don't think Tomac can do it as he is signed by Geico. Its one thing for a non-factory rider to get a factory ride, its a totally different thing for a factory rider to be on a non-factory team MID SEASON.

As much as I'd love to see Tomac as the replacement, I don't see how thats gonna happen, especially if Reed is out for the rest of the series.

I have a feeling that if you're gonna see Tomac on a 450, it will be on Canard's bike, not Reed's.
I'd be surprised to see him on either though.

I'd have to believe that Reed / TwoTwo has a good back up plan.  At some point, they'd have asked themselves, "what if Chad gets hurt?", and then came up with a few workable solutions.

Facciotti has the #1 plate in Canada, and has won multiple championships up here. Now I know that doesn't mean anything to you apparently, but he is already backed by a number of big name sponsors (including Fox, Red Bull, Oakley, etc list goes on) and is on a factory team. So yes, these companies do really get behind him. Not saying he should be a back up rider by any means, just before you start bagging on riders, make sure you know who they are.

Who didn't get a factory ride this year that deserved one? I think everyone was snatched up when McGrath and Ward started their teams. Reed will have to have a rider fill his spot for the Nationals but I think they can sit out the remainder of the SX season

Well after some heated negotiations today  with my agent ( real estate ) and lawyer ( public defender )  it looks like i may not be able to get out of my contracts ( jauns lawncare and auto upolstrey, rustler jeans , KIA , and the obama bailout slush fund .com )
in time to be the Fill in for 22 motorsports.  This is a great dissapointment for Team 22 as they were looking forward to putting a Vet class rider on the Box  in the 2012 monster energy supercross .

I did not say anything bad about Facciotti, so don't get your panties in a wad.   I just googled him and he does have a nice resume.  I can honestly respect that fact that he's won the Canadian Nationals.

But...  I hadn't heard of him until you mentioned him. And that was my point.

I don't know how if he has any sort of established name here in the states that would help him represent sponsors at the AMA events.    He is certainly not, in my opinion, one of the 10 most popular guys in the sport.

I think Chad needs a big name to fill his shoes.  I don't know of any available big names!
