So I was disatissfied by the lack of carrying options for longer hauls on my 530. Its really the perfect size bike for good hard dualsport loops. But giantloop and wolfman bags just don't have enough options. So with the help of a buddy we fabed up our own. We started by beefing up the subframe. We boxed in the lower portions since they take the most load, and gusseted all the upper portions as well as adding some cross plates to aid rigidity. Then we fabed up a soft luggage rack that would sit on the top supports of a PMB rack and used existing screws in the subframe. We incorporated attachements for a tool tube, to hold 1 liter of extra oil, and 2 attachment points for rotopax. 1 gas and 1 water. out here in the desert the water is almost more important than gas if you break down. we fashioned a small aluminum heat sheild for the exhaust side to protect the luggage, which by the way is a set of Kreiga 20 liter dry bags. Their luggage is hardcore. took it out for a spin and some rough terrain today and everything held up great. Only damage were all the cactus prickers i had to pull out from the bags, since they hang 12 inchs off the bike.
