why for does the 72 Suzuki TS400J have a 12V battery in it, is this not a magneto ignition system?

the battery is for running lights and such, other wise the lights would die when the bike wasn't running

Odd that they used 6V for all the others... TS250, 185 , 125 must have wanted brighter lights at idle? the fellow I got this TS400 from said it kept blowing headlights, (6V) gosh I wonder why.....

and what is rarer than a Suzuki 6V flat bottom headlight? a 12V one.
