Installing a Scotts damper. What is this part for ?

I am installing a Scotts damper on my 05 wr450 and I have this bracket that came with the kit.
What is it ? Am I just having a major brain fart or what ?

I am guessing you bought a complete triple clamp kit. The triple clamp fits multiple years of Yamaha's and the different adapters are for the different odo's and instrument clusters and number plates. Your bike may not need that particular one but we include them to try to cover all we can.
