Signed up last night! Cant wait to get our there and REALLY get the series started!

As far as WEST CHEC goes its been more then successful with a 12% increase at round 2 and national coverage through Dirt Bike and Dirt Rider Magazine!

As far as myself... the first time I ever rode a motorcycle was at Cow Mountain and we were members of Marine County MC in the 90's so it'll be great to get back up there and do some REAL riding!

Thanks for being part of the series and look forward to racing with all of you up north!

Thanks Erik.  I hope the series numbers keep improving.  Some of the D36 guys showed their skills in the desert last month.  I am curiuos to see how well D37 does up in our neck of the woods.  No pun intended.  Make sure to tell everyone to put some bark busters on there bikes and waterproof the electrical connections.  There will be some bark and water.  We have rocks too.  A racing smorgasbord if you will.

What do you do to waterproof your electrical connections? I've sprayed most of the bike with the tank and seat off with a pressure washer and it started right up, as well as charged through some pretty deep puddles over the last month or so without any electrical issues.

It seems the biggest problem is sucking water into the airbox, through the filter and into the carb. Anyone have some suggestions on how to prep my 09 KTM 400 XC-W for this Enduro?

Thanks,

Mark

Have you ever had your bike underwater?  Pressure washing does not submerge a connection.  I use vaseline or electrical conductive grease on the connections under the tank and then I tape them up with good electrical tape.  Silicone the wires at the rubber boot going into your stator cover too.  There has not been much rain so the creek crossings will have way less water this year.    If you get water in the air box it means you crashed in the creek and will have water in a lot of other places too.  Water will not come up that high on the bike when you cross.

Cool, and yes, I have dunked a bike, but it was a kickstart so had much less going on electrically than the KTM.

I have some dialectic grease, I think that will be suitable, sounds like a good idea.

I have a big fear of water after I dunked my bike, so that part of the Enduro will be the biggest challenge for me, if I make it that far. :bonk:

I know I will be bringing up a handful myself and pushing as many local riders as possible to make the trek. The more your riders come down south the more our riders will figure out that there are other places to go to do some amazing racing and riding! And the more you guys come down and kick our butts the more incentive we have to put a few extra bucks in our tanks!

I'm hoping to put in a good showing as I personally ride much better in the higher elevations. But that Petersen is no joke! Along with Jacob Santos... I think I'll have my hands full!!

Unless it pours between now and the event, this year is probably going to be quite low in terms of creek depth compared to previous years where we had to break out the life jackets.
NBMC will probably use this to find some other kind of torture for us, haha...

Dry weather until next Tues.  Wed calls for rain to make Cow Mtn. close to perfect before the event.   Keep our fingers crossed for nice weather with off and on showers in between.  Entries keep coming and we have our courses figured out.  Should be awesome.

Rain, Rain,  and more rain today.  These recent storms have come through and Cow Mtn. is going to soak this one in and make the Sawmill / Crosscut events ones to remember.  I was at the area over the weekend and the creek was nearly dry.  There will be little run off with this storm, the ground is not saturated, so I figure the creek won't change much.  Trail conditions were pretty good on Sunday I can only imagine how perfect they will be next week.  The Mtn. will be closed this weekend because of the rain.  That's a bummer but get your pre-ride in soon and pre-enter soon.

Courses are complete and we are about ready to get the 58th Annual Sawmill and 5th Annual Crosscut Family Enduro's underway.  This one also counts as Round 3 of the West Chec Enduro Series so don't miss out.  More rain forecast today.  The area is about perfect right now with recent rains.  NBMC has put a lot of hours into the trails this year and plans on making this one of the best weekends of Enduro ever.  Be a part of the Double Cut weekend.  Enter both events March 31 and April 1st and get a $10 discount.  350 rider limit this year per event.

A slight bump here is needed.  We will be getting a weeks worth of rain up here in NorCal, which started yesterday.  Trail conditions can only get better if it saturates into the soil.  Weather shows dry after this weekend leading up to our events.  Drawing is soon, March 22nd,  so get a good minute and pre-enter.

BigMattyG you are correct.  I was going to post that today and you beat me to it.  Due to severe weather including snow and large amounts of rain the Crosscut and Sawmill Enduros have been postponed.  BLM's weather closure policy requires 3 straight days of dry weather to reopen and that starts to count tomorrow because it rained into today.  The forecast shows more rain up to Saturday so the area will be closed probably at least until Wed. of next week.  You also had the dates right.  Rescheduled for April 21st and 22nd.  If you are not entered pre-entries have been reopened for both events.  We are currently about half way to our max rider participation in pre-entries alone right now.
