You don't need to drink that Canadian Swill when you are in Oregon. Try the Black Butte Porter, Hop Czar or any one of the other dozens of great craft brews all of which have a 6% or greater alcohol content. Trust me you will be happy!
ninkasi time
kokanee(a land locked salmon) is a fish that is found primarilly in the high lakes. You will have to go to lake waldo and fish them for yourself. You will find a bunch of great fresh fish, and dungenous crab .
I suggest you get whats in season for the freshest fish available. There is a number of fish markets and restaurants up and down the coast line.Be sure to ask if its fresh or frozen,I have real problem when ordering fish and chips, only to get fish sticks and fries. If you make it to North Bend try rogers zoo for a pizza like no other, with great beer you wont be disappointed.

i never really see kokanee, the beer, around the northwest. but like the others have said there's plenty of good beers.

between spokane and the dunes you've got some options for riding. mattawa, juniper, horn rapids, and toes are all in central wa near the columbia just south of i90. there's also a few spots on the west side of washington to ride, pretty wet right now though, kinda depends on which way you go to get to the oregon coast.

I have a flag with a stainless steel pole and this swingarm mount: http://www.tmdesignw...x&cPath=140_141 Then drilled a couple small holes in my rear fender and ziptie the flag pole to the fender so it dosen't flop all over the place.

I broke mine off a fender mount in about 20 min. I rigged it up in my back pac and it has bin fine since. I forget it's there after a while. They do sell chest protector mounts as too.

Well guys with a little update. Honemyman campground called me on the friday I was leaving that the campground was closed so we decided to go to GLAMIS!
and let me tell you it was the best time ever. we rode there for 3 days then headed north and hit up a couple small dunes on the way then stopped at st anthoney dunes in idaho were my bike started crapping out on me, overheating....engine oil spewin in the airbox(stupid aprilia's)
but anyways I will be doing this trip every year now just without a 7000lbs trailer!
and now that the aprilia is acting up I picked up a 12 kx450f and life is all good now!
so 6000kms on 7.9mpg and a crapped out bike later I wouldnt trade it for anything and cant wait for next year!
Here is some pics. sorry no action pics at all. I was mainly worried about my bike the whole time and had to top it up everyride but enjoy!

No clue but the thing kept overheating like crazy or maybe it was just me beating on it and the oil was being force fed into my airbox for some stupid reason.....I didnt overfill it once! never buying brand X ever again! Kawi for life where oil changeds take 5 minutes and parts are available everywhere! even oil filters!(aprilia mxv oil filters are hard to find and take forever to order in)

have fun, I love the dunes.

I was with Pincusion and Blake but I am not a tard like them.

We need to set up a tard bus trip like that again soon.

I wonder if we can get Pugsley to chauffeur us around again.

It will need to be registered. Oregon registration is $10.50 for 2 years and they can be found easily at any bike shop.

ColinSiR,
that's awesome. I used to terrorize Glamis once upon a time. Did you camp at Gecko?
Did you go to the Glamis bar and then jump the canal?

I've seen some crazy, crazy shit happen at Glamis. It's like the sand version of Lake Havasu!
