I am putting a new stator in the WR and am putting all back together and I have a piece left that doesn't seem to go anywhere. It is not in the blow up diagram in the manual but it definitely came out of the stator assembly. My best guess is that it went on the wires as some sort of shield but I'm not too sure. Will try to add photo but it is a small plastic piece about 40mm total lenghtand maybe 8-10mm wide with a bend in it. Anyone that knows where this goews let me know. Why is it not in the manual - maybe I don't really need it?

You say its a new stator your putting in? Is this part off the old one or the new one? I would say if its off the new one it was just packaging protecting the stator during shipping.

By the way I want to go to your country soon. I work with a guy from New Zealand. He brings pics back every time he goes back to visit. What a beautiful country.

It was on the old one so was inside lhs engine cover. I reckon it is not required but it must do something. Nz is good place to live and ride. Thanks for your reply
